Apple's Fall Event 2010

Apple's September Event was today, and farsurpassed my expectations. Unfortunately, I was not able to watch the event live, but I watched it on the Apple site later. So here is the evnt in a nutshell

iPod touch 4G
The new 4th gen. iPod touch got everything we expected. It will have dual cameras, the Retina display, the A4 chip, with iOS 4.1 preloaded on it. It's even thinner than the previous generations, being only 0.23 inches thick! That's amazing! With the dual cameras, you can use either one for FaceTime and the device will have support for iMovie for iPhone. The Retina Display is an amazing display, the A4 chip will get ridof any lag at all. iOS 4.1 will have GameCenter built in, which is pretty awesome, I'm sure no one expected, since rumors were saying it would be removed. We will be getting one of these, once we have the money for it, so please click the ads on the side and below the posts to support us. As soon as we get our hands on one of these devices, we will review it, possibly a textreview but most likely a video review, so stay tuned to our YouTube channel.

iPod nano 6G
The iPod nano is now a touchscreen device, with a 3cm screen, which comes out to be 1.5 inches, it's a big leap from all the previous generations, but the screen may be too small for some people. When I first read about the rumors that the new nano would be touchscreen, I thought it was impossible and stupid, but now I think it could work and be awesome. The interface reminds me a lot of iOS, but it's obviously not. It really goes nice with the iPod touch when they are together. We will most likely NOT be getting one of these so there won't be a review on it.

iPod shuffle 4G
This is the best Shuffle ever, it took the best from the 2nd generation and combined it with the best of the 3rd. I think this will be a success. There isn't much else to say about it because it''s just a hybrid, but it's an awesome one. The new price of $49 is a big selling point.

Apple TV
Not iTV? That's a surprise, but I personally like the name Apple TV better. The new one looks epic. It's black, fits in the palm of your hand, and is $99. Instead of having a hard drive that you sync to, it streams from the iTunes Store, your computer, Netflix, YouTube, Flickr, and MobileMe. This also introduced $4.99 HD Movie Rentals, $0.99 TV Episode Rentals (only for Fox & ABC shows) and other goodies. We will be getting one of these and will probably review it.

iTunes 10
We all expected this coming, but not the new features in it. iTunes 10 introduces a new logo without the CD,A new "Hybrid" view for your music, which adds album artwork for every album in your library that has more than 5 songs in it, and "Ping," a new social network for music, and I must say, it looks awesome. For some reason, Steve said it would be available today, but I can only download iTunes 9.2.1, not 10. Strange.

In other news from the event, iOS 4.2 for iPad will be out this November, adding all the features of iOS 4 and some new ones like printing. iPad users should be happy.

That's pretty much today's Apple event, strangely, no new iPod classic. We will discuss this in our next "15 Minutes of Nerdiness", coming this Saturday, so stay tuned.
