Apple has announced an event set for a week from today having to do with Macs. See the lion there? This probably means that "Lion" will be the codename for Mac OS X 10.7. We may see an update to iChat with FaceTime abilities. Maybe a new UI? We can only speculate at this point, so we'll have to wait a week to be sure.

Greenpois0n Released!
We reported yesterday on limera1n and the greenpois0n delay, but greenpois0n has been released today. It only works for Windows and Linux at the moment, but the Chronic Dev Team is working on the Mac version. Also only newer devices are supported now, such as the iPhone 4, iPhone 3G S, iPod touch 4th Gen, iPod touch 3rd Gen, and the iPad. The Chronics are working on adding support for iPod touch 2nd Gen and the new Apple TV, as said on their blog. It is unknown if the jailbreak will work on MC model devices.
Visit http://greenpois0n.com for the download and enjoy!

Jailbreak for 4.1
Remember gow greenpois0n was et to be released yesterday (Sunday 10/10/10)? Yeah, that was delayed until further notice because geohot released limera1n for 4.1. The Chronic Dev Team, developers of greenpois0n, have delayed it so they can use the same exploit limera1n uses instead of SHAtter, to prevent Apple from patching both exploits at once.
Anyway, limera1n, is using a bootrom exploit, which is unpatchable except by a hardware update. Limera1n is said to support most devices, but the site only says it jailbreaks iPhone 3GS, iPod Touch 3G, iPad, iPhone 4, iPod Touch 4G running 4.0 - 4.1 or later. I myself am unsure about the devices, and I am using an iPod touch 2G (MC model) and had updated to 4.1, anticipating greenpois0n, just as AppAdvice reported on it working only on new devices, and now in this turn of events, I am unsure, but I am enjoying the improved speed and battery life without the jailbreak
You can visit the site through this link
Have you guys tried it? On which devices? And has it worked? let us know.
